Ali Turan in Portrait: With Heart, Sportsmanship, and Leadership
Ali Turan is the prime example of how an apprentice can grow into a true leadership personality within a company. Ali Turan is the prime example of how an apprentice can grow into a true leadership personality within a company. He has been enriching Transdanubia since September 2003 and has undergone an impressive development at the Guntramsdorf location as Head of Export. In our employee story, we introduce him and his exciting journey.
From Apprentice to Expert for the Extraordinary
His professional career began on June 3, 1996, with an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent, during which he was initially responsible for domestic operations and local trucking. In December 2000, he moved to the Guntramsdorf branch. After years in national dispatch, he switched to the charter department for international dispatch in 2013. However, his expertise goes far beyond the standard: back in 2005, he assumed the responsible role of Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser, which he has continuously expanded through ongoing training.
A Daily Routine Between ADR, Quotations, and Problem-Solving
A dynamic rhythm prevails at Thomas's workplace. The day starts with processing emails, answering customer inquiries, and checking trucks and cargo. An absolute focal point lies on ADR-specific issues, hazardous goods and waste transports, as well as price calculation and quotation preparation. What drives him is the short decision-making paths, the variety, and the ability to respond flexibly to every challenge. He is particularly proud of successfully mastering tricky special tasks and supporting his colleagues with expert advice and practical assistance.
Off Duty: World Championships and Iron Endurance
Anyone who keeps a clear head in their profession and when handling hazardous goods transport also needs the perfect balance in their free time. Thomas finds this balance in sports—and at an extreme level. Alongside football, triathlon has developed into his great passion, leading him to World Championship participations and remarkable achievements all the way to the Ironman. He enjoys his remaining precious time surrounded by his family and friends.
When asked how he would describe Transdanubia in one word, he smiles and waves it off: a single word is not enough. For him, one thing is certain: the company is solution-oriented, reliable, competent, and jointly future-oriented.
