Transdanubia Milestones

Since 1965, Transdanubia has developed from a Vienna-based freight forwarder for long-haul transports into a European supply chain specialist – with certified frozen logistics, state-of-the-art technology, and 100% sustainable energy supply.

1965–1980

Beginnings:

1965: Founded in Vienna as TRANSDANUBIA – specialising in demanding long-haul transports to Greece, Turkey, Russia, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Early expertise in complex supply chains.

1971: Relocation to Pasching (Upper Austria) – strategic location for network expansion and modern logistics infrastructure. Foundation for sustainable growth.

1980–2000

Growth & Specialisation:

1984: Strategic refocus on intermodal transport and efficient European logistics – concentrating on profitable core business.

1991: Opening of Guntramsdorf location near Vienna – strengthening the Austrian network.

1992: First trucks with satellite navigation – Transdanubia as digital logistics pioneer.

1998: Official logistics partner of ÖFB for the 1998 Football World Cup in France.

1999: First frozen warehouse in Pasching opened (90 pallet spaces) – entry into temperature-controlled logistics.

2000s: Development of comprehensive automotive supply chain solutions including just-in-sequence and international procurement logistics.

2000–2016


Network Expansion & Certifications

2002: Foundation of Transdanubia Kalsdorf (Styria) – strategic southern expansion.

2007: His Majesty King Carl XVI. Gustaf visits our Guntramsdorf locations for the handover of 400 Volvo trucks.

2010: Opening of Werndorf location – further consolidation of the Austrian logistics network.

2015: Guntramsdorf expanded to 60,000 m² – additional capacities for cross-docking and integrated services.

From 2004: Introduction of international standards: HACCP, IFS Food, IFS Logistics – pioneers in food and pharma logistics. ISO certifications: ISO 9001 (quality management) + EN ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management).

2016–Today

Modern Logistics & Sustainability:

2016: Pasching with 6th frozen warehouse – total 30,000 temperature-controlled pallet spaces in Austria. Market leader position in frozen and cold chain logistics.
Since 2016: Introduction of modern tracking systems – real-time transparency across the entire supply chain.

2021: Cross-docking expansion Pasching – new halls for more efficient goods flows and B2B distribution.

2025: 100% electricity from renewable sources – complete conversion including own production for CO₂-neutral logistics sites.

2025: GDP certification successfully obtained – highest standards for pharma logistics confirmed.
