The filling station and wash halls located on the premises are all operated via several oil separators with an alarm so environmental harm can be ruled out from the outset. At our Guntramsdorf branch, we erected a new washing plant with a recycling facility back in 1999; this guarantees that 80% of the washing water is reused. In Pasching, we have gone even one step further and have erected an ecological recycling facility; all we use there is biodegradable detergent.
In regular driver training programmes, we seek to impart awareness and knowledge about driving economically. In addition, the fuel consumption of every single vehicle is very precisely recorded and analysed.
An automated tire pressure and profile measuring system is available at the Pasching site. Each of our vehicles is guided through this plant, in which the necessary measurement data are generated by laser scanning without the vehicle having to stop. A final visualization shows the driver exactly which tire on which axle has defects in tread depth or tire pressure. The right tire pressure can save up to 5% of fuel.
To support these efforts, all vehicles in the TD fleet are fitted with wind deflectors that significantly reduce air resistance and therefore also energy consumption. We are currently testing a vehicle with full fairing. |
